Choosing

I chose to be a teacher. I chose to enroll in graduate school and incur a massive amount of debt. I chose to live in NYC, in the West Village. I chose to end relationships. I chose to stay in others.   I chose to move across the country and live in LA, in Manhattan Beach. I chose to leave classroom teaching and start my own company.

And the list goes on...

All of these choices have opened doors and closed others.  It's easy to make excuses and says things like, "It's not fair" or "I can't afford to__".  But just know that you always had and have a choice.

The true beauty is that each day presents an opportunity to choose again.  We don't need to be defined by the choices we made in the past.  We can very simply change the direction of our lives with choice.

Sharing this message with children is so important.  Whether it's in regards to behavior, school or friendships, choice can be their most powerful tool.

Today, I choose to see the world as a loving place.  I choose to make decisions that align with my true self.  I chose to share my gifts with the world to the best of my ability.  I choose to surround myself with people who light up my soul.
